Back in 1987 Britannia Bearsbys started out life as – Paul Bearsby, a removals truck and a bedroom wardrobe/office. Over the next 30 years Paul proceeded to carry out removals in Sevenoaks, the surrounding areas, the county, the country and throughout the rest of Europe. After all those years of hard work, in 2017 Britannia Bearsbys has become the largest and most accredited removals company in the Sevenoaks area. We have over twenty full-time staff, eleven large pantechnicons and our very own 650 container on site storage facility. We often work with local businesses in Sevenoaks as well as local builders such as DB Design and Build and even recently moved Knole house as mentioned below. If you need to move a few bits and pieces within Sevenoaks, move a whole house to Scotland or move your whole life on to the continent we really can cater to anything.
"Recently moved with Bearsbys, from the out set all of the staff I dealt with were really friendly and helpful. I could not decide where to put some of my furniture, instead of getting frustrated the team offered advice and always had a smile on their faces. Great service, highly recommended."Mr Freddie R, Sevenoaks
"I was dreading moving house, i'd heard all the nightmare stories about removals companies and was really nervous about trusting someone with my families belongings. Ralph came out to give me a quote and completely reassured me, the guys on the day were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Everything arrived safe and sound in my new property exactly where I wanted. I would definitely recommend Bearsbys, I just wish i'd taken them up on the packing service!"Mr James G, Sevenoaks
"I had one piece of furniture to be collected and delivered with the recipient to be confirmed. Whilst not straight forward, my enquiry was treated with a 'can do attitude' and Ralph could not have been more helpful. So refreshing. Customer service and satisfaction at its very best."Mrs Jenny B, Sevenoaks
One of the most notable removals we have carried out in Sevenoaks in recent months was the National Trust property Knole House. Although there are no permanent residents in Knole House itself. Every National Trust property has a house manager who looks after its day to day running. The customer is question was heading up to Yorkshire to look after another property.
As with all of our removals we sent out one of our surveyors to work out exactly how much furniture needed to be moved. It was also important with a move of this nature to assess the access to the property, what sort of vehicle we might use and where we might be able to park it considering the number of tourists in and around the property throughout the day. Unfortunately this was no easy feat. The property was situated on the first floor of one of the outer wings of Knowle House and there were only two options. One of them consisted of a very low archway and a long walk to the front door and another was the main entrance to the property. To make sure we kept any disruption to a minimum we decided to go with the low archway and the long walk to the front door.
On this removal in particular the customer decided to pack up their goods into boxes themselves and so our packing services were not required. We did however provide the additional service of driving the customer's spare car up to Yorkshire. When moving a little bit further afield, the removal normally happens over two days. However, in this instance the time frame was not as important because the National Trust already owned both properties.
Although we are more than capable of carrying out removals of this size and this nature. We can cater to removals of all different shapes and sizes. Wether you're only moving a few bits and pieces or a whole house we are more than happy to help.
