MOVING TO ITALY?

Britannia Bearsbys is one of the leading moving companies in the UK for removals to Italy. The high volume of Italy removals that we carry out combined with our good local knowledge means that we are well known within the industry as one of the premier removers to this part of Europe.

Moving so far away can initially sound quite intimidating, but a European removal to Italy is just as simple and straightforward as a domestic removal to within the UK! The only real difference being the journey time to your new home. All of our removals to Italy are carried out by one of our own removals teams in one of our own removals vehicles. We have select teams of overseas movers that can go off on to the continent for anything up to three weeks at a time carrying out deliveries throughout Italy.

ITALY REMOVALS MADE SIMPLE

Most people that move abroad do not take the entire contents of their house, which generally means that we can share the space on our vehicles between other like-minded customers. This can help to dramatically reduce the costs involved with moving. Share the load, share the cost. Alternatively, should you wish to move a large amount of furniture over to Italy we can dedicate an entire vehicle and removals crew to you.

We provide an eighty foot Mercedes Actros road train to accommodate the volume of moves we carry out in Europe. The vehicle can hold up to nearly four thousand cubic foot of furniture and because it is brand new it adheres to all of the standards and expectations set out by the European road authorities. Our vehicles are all satellite tracked for security and driven by fully licensed LGV drivers with years of experience in driving abroad.

MOVING FROM THE UK TO ITALY?

Mixture of great food, Mediterranean climate, history and around 5000 miles of coastline – do you need more reasons to fall in love with this country? Italy is fourth most populous country in the EU with it`s population of around 61 million. You can easily communicate in English in all major tourist cities, but it is advisable to learn basic Italian before choosing this destination for you and your family.

Before using our Italy removals service you should obtain your Italian tax code. You can do it online via Italian Consulate website. The service is free of charge and only available to individuals.

After using our removals to Italy service and getting to your destination, you should visit local town hall and apply for residency – this is a required step for everyone staying in Italy for more than 3 months. The authorities will give you a certificate that would allow you 5 years period of residency in Italy (after which you will be granted a permanent residency).

Abruzzo, Aosta Valley, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Emilia-Romagna, Friuli-Venezia, Giulia, Lazio, Le Marche, Liguria, Lombardy, Molise, Piedmont, Puglia, Sardinia, Sicily, Trentino – Alto Adige, Tuscany, Umbria, Veneto.

We also visit major cities on a regular basis too, in particular:

Milan, Turin, Venice, Como, Parma, Bologna, Florence, Cortona, Sienna, Orvieto, Pescara, Rome, Abruzzi, Perugia, Terni and Genoa.

Some additional information: A lot of our customers find it economical to buy furniture here in the UK and then ship it out to Italy. We can help make this process slightly easier by receiving deliveries directly to our offices and bringing them out to you. It can often work out to be a lot cheaper for English removals companies to bring furniture back to the UK with them than having an Italian company ship it out for you.

A RECENT HOUSE REMOVAL TO ITALY

One thing to remember when moving furniture to Italy is that property is never normally built with the moving companies in mind. One of the more challenging deliveries that we have had to carry out was to the centre of Venice. There is only so far you can go into Venice with a vehicle, especially an 18 metre road train. To carry out this particular removal we had to recruit the services of a Gondolier and his Gondola. We met our Gondolier on the quayside where we transferred our customers goods into his boat. We then ferried the belongings across the canals of Venice until eventually we reached one of the most picturesque locations on the island.

Once we had managed to get our customers belongings across the canals we then had to use trolleys to wind our way through hundreds of tourists to the final destination which was on the 4th floor of an apartment complex without a lift. To cap it all off it was actually snowing on the day. Not the weather you would expect in Venice. As you would expect, upon delivery of the goods we had a very happy and relieved customer. It’s fairly safe to say that there is not much we haven’t seen. We really can deliver any amount of furniture to anywhere in Italy. We’ve been doing it for a number of years now and are very well known amongst our peers in the removals industry for our professionalism and efficiency in Italian removals. On our next trip to Venice we may have to invest in a straw boater and a hooped shirt for our removals staff to make sure they blend in and look the part.

REVIEWS OF REMOVALS TO AND FROM ITALY

I recently moved from Italy to Wales and Britannia Bearsbys were incredibly helpful. They responded promptly to all queries, their quotation was very competitive, and they were extremely flexible with dates. The service was excellent too: the guys who turned up to do the removal were not just professional but friendly and patient. They arrived early, for both pick up and delivery, and were quick and efficient. All my possessions arrived safe and sound — without a scratch. This is by far the best experience I have ever had with a removal company and I am already recommending Britannia to Friends and colleagues.

Mrs Loredana P

Italy

We recently left Italy after 9 years. We got five estimates from different companies but Britannia Bearsbys was the most reasonable. Richard came from Florence to assess the amount of boxes that would be needed, check the exits and give an estimate. We had accumulated far too many possessions but Peter and Kevin [with Richard helping to move the boudoir grand piano] seemed unfazed by the task in hand and over 2 and half days packed and loaded everything. The four men who unloaded our belongings when we moved into the English house [on the hottest day of the summer] were likewise utterly professional. Even the pot plants were thriving after 3 months in storage. We cannot thank Britannia Bearsbys enough for the care they took and would not hesitate to recommend them to people moving from Europe to the UK or vice versa. They are a class act!

My husband and I relocated to Italy and Britannia delivered a first class service. We were beyond excited to greet the Britannia lorry from home. It was a very happy moment to see the lorry arriving from England and all the streets gathered outside as Italians haven’t seen anything like it. Thank you very much for all your help. We have been extremely happy for the professional job throughout. My husband and I have used many removal companies in the past and none of them stand close to the service we received by Britannia. Kevin and Bradley were extremely helpful and very professional at their job. First class service. Thank you very much.

MOVING YOUR PET TO ITALY.

At Bearsbys we appreciate how important your pet is to you. If you’ve decided to move abroad it’s likely that you will be taking your pet(s) with you and as a valued customer Britannia Bearsbys will try to support you in every aspect of the move. Here is some useful information regarding moving pets to Italy.

In order to take your pet with you to Italy it must have been microchipped and vaccinated against rabies. The rabies vaccine must have been received at least 21 days before departure to Italy. Pets must have been issued with an EU Pet Passport in accordance to European Regulation 998/2003, which will be issued by your local vet. A non-commercial importer may bring up to five pets into Italy, any more than five is treated as a commercial import. If the rabies vaccination was the animal’s first vaccine then it must wait for 21 days before entering the country. There is no time delay with booster injections; providing there is proof that the booster was administered before the last vaccine had expired. An animal must be over three months old to enter Italian territory.

Only a licensed vet may issue the passport, and vaccinations should be kept current by the vet. Before issuing it, the vet will confirm that the animal is identified by a micro chip in the neck or tattoo in the ear, has valid vaccines against rabies or has had a blood test to confirm the vaccine is in the system.

Guide dogs for the blind entering Italy must adhere to the same requirements as other domestic pets as mentioned above. However, once in Italy the service dog has unhindered access to all public buildings, shops and may travel unrestricted on all public transport.
