House Removals Kent.

Moving house was once voted the third most stressful time in a person’s life alongside marriage and death. Although we cannot help with the other two, we can certainly try our best to make your moving day as easy as possible. Britannia Bearsbys have over 30 years experience with removals in Kent and the surrounding areas. We have listed the steps involved in moving home in Kent with a removals company below:

Step 1: Arrange A Removals Survey

The price of a removal is entirely dependent on the cubic volume of the furniture you'd like to move. To calculate this volume we need to come and see you and the contents of your home. You can arrange an appointment over the phone or by email, please see our contact information below.

Step 2: Receive A Removals Quotation

After the initial survey, our surveyors take away all of the information they have and produce a moving plan. They take into account the number of staff & vehicles required, the distance you're travelling and many other important factors to work out the cost involved. Your quotation is then emailed to you within twenty four hours.

Step 3: Accept A Removals Quotation

Once the quotation has been sent. An online account is automatically created where you can login in and accept the quote online within minutes. To book in a removal we require both the signed acceptance form and a £100.00 deposit. Please note, a removal is not confirmed until you receive a letter of confirmation from us.

Step 4: Move Home

Our removals staff leave our offices at 8am sharp. Most house removals will take a whole day to complete and our anticipated finish time is usually around 5:30pm. Our removals teams will bring all of the necessary materials to carry out your removal and will stay with you until you are safely moved into your new property.

Packing Services for House Removals in Kent.

We can include a price for packing with every quotation that we send out. Our estimators calculate the number of boxes you require whilst adding up the total cubic volume of furniture. This means a packing service can be added to your quotation at any point even after your original quotation has been sent.

We do provide free second hand cartons and tape with every quotation should you wish to pack yourself. However, we can offer a complete packing service for all of your belongings. If you are confident enough to pack your non-breakable items perhaps our 'fragile-packing' service could be of more use to you. Our packing service is normally carried out the day before your removal day. We have found that attempting to pack, load and deliver all in one day is incredibly stressful for our clients and also just too much work to do in one day.

With all of our packing services we use modern packing materials such as wardrobe cartons for hanging clothes, bubble wrap, furniguard (similar to bubble wrap but designed for pictures and polished surfaces), mattress covers and settee covers. Another option that is worth considering is what we call Export Wrapping. This is the type of packing and wrapping that is normally reserved for overseas removals but we are happy to wrap up certain items should you wish them to have a little more protection en route to your new property.

Removals Insurance.

As you would expect, we have a comprehensive insurance policy which far exceeds the standards required for membership to the British Association of Removers. Our standard insurance policy will cover you up to £100,000, however, we can provide you with a higher level of cover should you require it. We will always list insurance seperately to allow an easy comparison with other removal companies. We also include a full insurance summary and our terms and conditions with every quotation that we send.

Our insurance policy is a specific goods in transit insurance policy designed for us as a Removals & Storage company. This is worth keeping in mind when comparing our cover to your contents of house insurance. Sometimes they will cover you for removals but quite often with a very high excess. For more information on our insurance policy or our terms and conditions please contact us using the information shown below.

Removals & Storage in Kent

We are moving an increasing amount of our customers into our storage facility in Kent. Unfortunately the process of moving house can often be very stressful and very unpredictable which causes a lot of our clients to move their furniture and effects into our storage facility before they look for a new property. In January 2015 we moved into our brand new storage facility and office space. We can now store just over 600 storage containers on site. Our warehouse is locked securely and fitted with a state of the art alarm system complete with HD CCTV that is maintained remotely for added security. We are situated in our very own lockable compound and located next to some reputable local businesses for further peace of mind.

All of our furniture storage is carried out using industry standard furniture storage containers. Each purpose built storage container holds 250 cubic feet of furniture and your goods are carefully wrapped and placed inside the containers. The containers are then forklifted into the warehouse and stacked. The containers are then safe and secure until you require them.

Depending on the access to your property, we can load the contents of your house or office space directly into the containers. Alternatively we can load the goods into one of our removals vehicles and unload them into the containers at our warehouse facility. You will always be provided with a full inventory list of the items you have put into storage.

We currently store goods for a number of local companies or organisations such as Hoopers of Tunbridge Wells, Rochester Diocese, Tonbridge School, Redrow Builders plus a number of others because of the high standards of storage that we offer. If you have any questions at all regarding our facility and the services that we can offer please do not hesitate to contact us using the information shown below. You are always welcome to call in and see for yourself the high level of storage that we offer (not all companies will offer that).
